During the month April to July of current financial year, around 79 lakh (7.9 million) children has enrolled under the unique identification authority of India as per the release of PIB (press information bureau). And according to the ministry of electronics and IT, by the end of 31st March 2022, around 26.4 million children had Baal Aadhaar. And 34.3 million children by the end of July 2022.
This Baal Aadhaar card initiative is initiated to know about the children have age between 0-5 in India and give several benefits to their parents under various schemes of government. Around 3.43 crore children had Bal Aadhaar by the end of July 2022.
What is Baal Aadhaar Card?
Baal Aadhaar is an initiative which is a digital photo identity for the children right form their birth. Under this Bal Aadhaar a person can get many benefits. Among adults, the saturation of Aadhaar is almost 100 percent. And now the Aadhaar became the ease of living as well as doing business.
The Indian government started this initiative for the better accomplishment of the government schemes for the children within the age 0-5 years old.
Baal Aadhaar Card Documents Required
There are some requirements you should meet with while applying for the Bal Aadhaar registration: –
- All the children who are between the age 0-5 years old can apply for this Bal Aadhar cards.
- Applicants need to provided their fingerprints and iris scans for the collection of biometric data for this Baal Aadhaar card. But these biometric data of children is not collected when they are of age 0-5.
- During the enrollment of children for the Bal Aadhaar card, the photo of children and their parent or legal guardian’s biometric will be taken.
- Parents or Guardian’s need to provide information like their relationship while children (birth certificate).
Important Details about Baal Aadhaar Card
This Baal Aadhaar Card is of blue colour and it is valid for only the age of 5 years. It means the children who will have this Baal Aadhaar card, when they become 5 years old, they need to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. And have to provide their own biometrics so they can complete their Mandatory biometric updates.
Once the children completed their MBU (Mandatory biometric updates) then they will be issued a normal Aadhaar. There Aadhaar number will remain same.
Baal Aadhaar Card Online Registration

- Firstly, visit to the official website of UIDAI i.e., uidai.gov.in. The direct link is provided below in the end of this article.
- Then, in the homepage of this website, you need o click on the option called book an appointment or locate an enrolment center. You will find this option under the My Aadhaar tab.
- Then, you need to provide some necessary details here in this form such as your full name, address, email address and valid phone number etc.
- After this, just click on the option called proceed to book appointment.
- Once you are done with this process then, you need to go to the any authorized Aadhaar enrolment centre and also carry your address document, birth certificate and id proof along with you for verification.
- All the children who are below the age of 5-year-old and registering for Bal Aadhaar card, their parents or guardians need to provide their biometrics and their Aadhaar Card and just a facial photo of child for the registration.
